I grew up in a Portland, a little country town in south West Victoria, that boasts some really beautiful beaches, a few pubs and little else.
There was certainly no tattoo studios, so I'm not exactly sure where my love of tattoos began, but from the age of about 15 I knew that tattooing was the only thing I wanted to do.
After turning 18 and escaping the country, I moved to Melbourne, then onto Sydney where I continued to design tattoos for my friends, and try to get together a dodgy set of flash (I still have my first ever set of flash today and looking at it now, have no idea how I ever managed to get a job).
In 2004, after months of harassment and hanging around the shop asking if I could please, please mop the floor, I began my tattooing apprenticeship at STR Body Modifications on the NSW Central Coast. I travelled back and forth between there and Sydney for 2 years before the long hours of travel got the best of me and I needed to find work a little closer to home. I started working at Tatudharma in October 2006.
I've been tattooing full time since the beginning of 2005, and couldn't ask for a better way to spend my days. I enjoy working in a lot of different styles, from traditional American and Japanese, to black and grey and all things cute and girly.
I'm looking forward to many more years of tattooing, making art, travelling and everything I get the opportunity to learn along the way. |
